your posting is is a great step! but my cellar is over 90% cal your notes are greatly wellcome but will J.L. start posting more or some notes. thank you for takeing part on this form. i do learn every day an thats what it's all about thanks again , Bruce Zucks |

bez, I agree with what you say, but there are plenty of notes and reviews in the WS and WA of recent wines and plenty of them from CA. The wines about which James is writing here are wines many of us will never get to try. That doesn't make the notes and less valuable. On the contrary, many of us will try many of the CA wines, but the notes on these very special wines are a treat.
I agree it would be nice to have the other writers particpate. James has given this site a great boost and a some impetus back in the direction of wine-related posting. Just one more sip. |

I like the old and rare bottle notes. Very cool.
I'm waiting on some 27' Ports and 19th century Bordeaux notes now. |

James' participation in these forums is a nice touch. Regardless of how many of these wines I will ever get to try, JS's spending the time to post here is welcomed and appreciated.

i understand what you are saying their are most likley twice as many of french, germany,an a few others then cal! i think i need to let y6u see my cellar! it's cal,aussie,IT,.1000 bottles an may be 24french wines the blend of people on this forum is allmost (9000)just not to a hand full! my wife wants me to branch out i am a bit like J.L. (brett funk) i do not like it. oh well i am giving it a shot. |

How about this? I had it six months ago when I was in Hong Kong. It was served blind, and I nailed it (for once!) as a Heitz Martha's Vineyard. I thought it was 1974 but it was 1969:
Incredible aromas of berries, iodine and eucalyptus follow through to a full-bodied palate, with ripe and almost sweet fruit and a peppermint and berry aftertaste. Holding on beautifully. 92 points |

Not to speak for him, but I don't think he tastes a lot of Australian wines - compared to Italy and France that is. The latters are his main beat and the ones he seems to enjoy the most. |

It is definately a treat to read these reviews of wines that most of us (read: I) will probably never get the chance to even stand next to for a photo op, let alone taste. They are an absolute joy to read.
