This year,due to the 25th anniversary, they decided to select 8 wines which were #1 on their top 100.
Presented in this order:

89 Pichon Baron (1992 wine of the year) - Cigar nose, still very tight but has some tobacco and sweet flavors 94

86 Beringer Cabernet Sauvignon Private Reserve (1990 wine of the year) - closed nose, tight but most of the fruit is gone 91

90 Caymus Cabernet Sauvignon Special Selection (1995 wine of the year) - From double magnums. Olives nose, taste was sweet tannins with good balance 94

96 Chateau St.Jean Cinq Cepages (1999 wine of the year) - Sweet nose, good balance, still has not developed the secondary flavors but will do soon 93

97 Solaia (2000 wine of the year) - powder, earthy nose, full body, tight with much fruit, need more time 5-6 years 95

90 Penfolds Grange (1995 wine of the year) - Sweet nose, but not big, minty, pepper, big tannins but drinkable now 96

94 Fonseca (1997 wine of the year) - better nose than Taylor, sweet, nutty, fruit driven taste, sweet plump 98

94 Taylor (1997 wine of the year) - very closed nose, more tannic than Fonseca, more structure, needs more time 99
