2001 Bodegas Muga Rioja Torre Muga - Spain, La Rioja, Rioja (10/8/2005) Round, more stremlined nose than the more "traditional" Prado Enea. Dark fruits, some leather and wood but no vanilla which often comes through in modern Spanish wines. Some sour black cherry notes on tasting - more characteristic Rioja flavors than I remember from a tasting last month (which isn't to say Rioja would be the first thing that came to my mind). Big tannins on the end with sufficient balancing acidity. Bigger and less elegant than the PE but a very good wine. ***
