  • 1460 Vampire Cabernet Sauvignon - Romania, Translyvania, Recas (10/30/1897)On this dark and moonless night, I was drawn to the bowels of my crypt to uncover what had been beckoning me over the past fortnight. After removing the tattered wrappings of linen from a dusty old bottle and standing it upright, I was immediately transfixed by the fill of the gleaming, throbbing, and slender neck and could barely restrain myself from sinking my teeth into this specimen. After a brief struggle, the cork, saturated from head to toe, gave way willingly, with only the slightest gasp. The wine had a beautiful and alluring crimson red color. After being repelled by the initial whiff of cedar and garlic which quickly dissipated, an enchanting and redolent nose of dark fruit, iron and chiropteran entrails seemed to soar across the room. At first sip, the infused dark fruits excite, yet nurture the palate with soft, coagulating tannins and wonderful permeating warmth that cuts to the bone. This possesses a soulful richness that is both precious and immortal and a finish that never seemed to die. This should do well for several more centuries, and the memory of this wine shall always haunt me. At least until the next sip.(100 pts.)

Not me, ma'am.

I would never misspell "Translyvania", home of my ancestors.
