Sorry gang, I originally posted these in the wrong space.

Dopff & Irion Crystal D'Alsace Sylvaver 2000
Light peach floral nose, soft chalky palate with good fruit, some light lemon-citrus notes clean finish. Aperitif or crowd-pleasing 'patio' wine.

Trimbach Pinot Blanc 2000
Punchy green apple, with earthy lemon tones, hint of almond. Racy on palate with apple dominated flavours, quite tart with mineral finish. Refreshing finish, good length.

Leon Beyer Riesling Reserve 2001
Lemon-pledge nose detracts at first. Settled into lemon with floral notes with hint of mineral. Well balanced and fresh with citrus dominated palate. A bit short.

Hugel Riesling "Tradition" 1998
Petrol dominates nose with apples, spice, honey and peach floral notes on end. Med-full bodied with apple-honey and spice complementing well. Citrus flavours help good length.

Cave de Vigneron Pinot Gris "Herrenweg" 1999
Earthy, floral nose with hint of nuts and spice. Apple/pear flavours with some bitter hazelnut undertones. Well balanced acidity with medium length finish.

Peirre Sparr Gewurztraminer 2001
Exotic fruit and peach nose with spicy notes of star anise. Medium-light on the palate with peach/pinapple and spice finishing a bit short with a touch of white pepper.

Trimbach Gewurztraminer 1999
Corked

Kuntz-Bas Gewurztraminer "Tradition" 2000
Lychee/pear nose balances well with allspice notes and hints on mint. Medium full bodied, exotic fruit and spy apple flavours are the foundation for well balanced wine. Clove and white pepper notes on medium long finish.

These wines were tasted as part of a course that I teach at George Brown College in Toronto, which hospitality and food services students need to take. Each week I hope to post the notes from the class. Since this is an introductory course the wines are, for the most part quite simple, and should be widely available.
