1997 Pietro Berutti Barbaresco La Spinona Bricco Fasêt - Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barbaresco (7/28/2005)
Purchased on release for $34. I found this wine to be thin and angular, with nary any meat on the bones. Tried decanting for 90 minutes, but it only fleshed out a little. It fared a little better when paired with a veal rib chop, with some faint dried flowers, mushroom, and black raspberry notes. Drink up. (83 pts.)
