I purchased a case of this wine for about $25 and split it with some other board members. WS rated this wine 92 points and made it the #65 wine in their Top 100 of 2002. I brought this to an Italian restaurant this weekend with the 1999 Hanna Cab. This wine beat out the Hanna by a slight margin acording to all who tried it.

The bend of this wine is 87% Cabernet Sauvignon and 13% Cabernet Franc. It has 14% alcohol. Only 1473 cases were made of this wine.

This was the darker of the 2 Cabs at the dinner and was a reddish purple color. The nose was filled with chocolate and mocha scents. This wine had ripe fruit but had a much more earthy taste than the Hanna Cab. It had a base of black fruit with tobacco, herbs and plum. The tannins were stil pronounced and hiding some of the fruit. Full bodied with a long finish. This wine needs some time to integrate and develop. Give it 4-10 years. 90-91 points.

VM;

i've already sampled a bottle that i got from you, my TN, abbreviated tho it was, noted lovely spice box notes which failed to follow thru on the palate. in fact, the nose was much better than the taste. all in all i liked it, but it's no 92 pointer IMO, i gave it 89. so far, the few 99 cabs i've had have not blown my away in terms of greatness.

I'll lend my support to VM's notes, bought 4 or 5 of these as I thought it was a nice '99 and the QPR was there in the mid $20 range, agree that this will need a few years, but should be quite pleasurable when it comes together.

Had this at the winery last October, I'm with VM and Stealthman_1 on this one, here are my notes:

1999 Cab. SLD. Dark with a nice expressive nose typical of good cab., big time anise on palate, finishes with firm tannins suggesting this is one to hold for a couple years, not quite as approachable as some SLD cabs right out of the gate. CN92.
