Very dominant nose of buttermilk, accompanied by roasted nuts, peach and yeasty aromas. Again that buttermilk on the palate, which dominates all other flavors (toast, some fruit, but also some vegetal notes). Not very much to my liking, but many others at the table adored it.

Apply, spicy tartine nose, showing age but lots of character, tart dry finish, more austere than the '90 (which I tasted that same night).

  TWC 5-Year Anniversary Dinner (Crush Wine Bar, Toronto, Canada): Medium-gold colour. Nutty, slightly oxidized nose with hints of toast, coffee, and dried apples. Medium-full bodied with gala apple, lemon, toast, and nuts on the palate. Good finish, ~30s, with more nuts, lemon, and dried apples/apple chips. Drink over the next several years. (91 pts.)
