  • 2005 Faiveley Côte de Beaune Villages - France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Côte de Beaune Villages (9/18/2008)
Garnet color. Straight forward red fruit, strawberry-cranberry and cherry-pomegranate with oak thrown in for good measure. Tannins are velvety, but a little harsh, I pick up a bit of greeness at the end. Pretty good for a village wine. Even though only a village wine, it could improve with time. (85 pts.)

I bought a few of his Mercurey from '05.
Did you try them, Ray?

I haven't had any of his Mercurey. I see a lot of his bottlings on the shelves, but I don't see a lot of current reviews of Faiveley wines. Clive Coates touts Faiveley as on of Burgundies great producers, but WS and WA don't seem to taste those wines and write formal reviews.
