Anwar brought this beauty to the haggis estate last weekend, amid pouring rain (now only 9" under in rain for the year), rampaging kids, and well-lubed mafioso. (and thank you dear Ms. Haggis for the great spread and to all who contributed otherwise).

This was PS is one I've never heard of before (and therefore...duh...never tried). This was one of the deepest purple-colored PSs I've seen and the aroma just lept out of the glass. Deep, rich, chocolatey fruit-bomb, with cherries, black pepper, and...i'm not kidding...a touch of Worchestershire Sauce (the 2000 Thackrey Orion is the only other wine I've had with such a profile and that is a syrah, not a PS). This was great! HI=93

Haggis,

That is funny you mention Thackery, ironically, Eaglepoint Ranch is the vineyard from which Sean Thackery gets his Petite Sirah for the Sirius.

Casey Hartlip owns the vineyard and produces Rhone varietals under his own Eaglepoint Ranch label. While the Petite Sirah is a huge bruiser his other wines are stylistically quite different and more tamed.

You can check out his site at www.eaglepointranch.com
