Email from winery. 2000 now available at $47. Loved their 99 CS and Syrah but never tried any of this blend. Anyone tried previous vintages?

Tried the 99 Alex's Blend last year for $49- and was not disappointed. Was big and rich yet smooth and elegant. Can't remember more specifics but definatley remember that I LOVED it! Have also tried their Syrah which we loved... and have a 98 Lewis Cab in waiting... the Lewis wines are hard to find.

Got the same email. It may be hard to find anyone who has tried the 2000 yet. Kind of hard to justify the price for a syrah/merlot blend from an off year. It's a pass for me unless people rave about it.

GATC - Agreed!

I'll stick with the 99 Shafer Relentless at the same price. [Wink]

i had the 99 shafer relentless tuesday night, then a 98 lewis syrah last night. as good as the shafer is, i definately preferred the lewis. both were huge wines in their own right, but lewis seemed to retain the essence of what i think syrah is all about.

FYI- The Lewis Alex's blend is 41.99 at The Wine House in LA- have seen it for around $50 elsewhere, I paid 49.99 for the 99 a yr. ago.
