Mt.Mary Quintet 1996- 12.5%Alc.Vol
Classic Bordeaux blend, that i've cellared since birth. after bagging the yarra valley i thought i'd better try there best red.
Cabernet based, amazing nose reminiscent of bordeaux, cassis, mint, lots of leafy, cedary aromas, tobbaco notes. The palate has lots of cassis fruitiness, touches of cedar and very little tannins.Lack of tannin structure holds the wine back, not the best vintage, but the tannins have melted, leaving the wine looking too soft. It's now three times the price i paid for it,but seriously it maybe deserves the praise it achieves in Oz.90+/100.
Best recent vintages 1998,2000.

Thats only fitting and proper, they deserve it!

In terms of value for money, this wine is horrendously overpriced IMO and there is wine that is just as good at less than half the price.

Cheers
