2003 Ajello Furat Sicilia IGT - Italy, Sicily, Sicilia IGT (6/9/2006)
WIML90,PURPLE91,NOWA,NOWS

Tasted June 9, 2006 at home. 14% alcohol. Opened and served immediately in a Spiegelau Authentis Magnum glass. Dark garnet color in the glass, slightly cloudy throughout. Nose of violets, lavender, mixed dark fruits, mocha and perhaps a touch of smoke. Flavors of plums, red berries and a little cocoa. Firm to slightly drying tannins, somewhat muted acidity. 14% alcohol shows, coming across a little on the hot side. This was my last bottle of this wine but I’m thinking it could probably go another 2-3 years although I doubt any significant improvement. Based on my purchase price of $15.89 I’d say the value here is recommended. (90 pts.)
