The 1995 Tresor is their Reserve Bordeaux Blend, and has been a personal favorite since first introduced in 1989 as, "Reserve Red Proprietary Wine". The name was changed to Tresor in 1993. It takes 4 years to get Tresor to the marketplace, as it ages 2 years in the barrel, then 2 years in the bottle, and that extra two years of delay costs Ferrari Carano a lot of money.
Last night I opened a 1995 Tresor, the first one in three years. The color was very nice with no signs of age, but the fruit was missing and there was a very dry finish. This tasted more like a wine from 1993 Bordeaux than 1995 California! I'm hopeing this was just an off bottle, but I think that's a fruitless wish ! --- 86 points.
MiamiAtty -- I still have 1997 Tresor in my cellar, so I'll guess I will start to open some.
By far the best Tresor has been the 1992, which was much richer & thicker than the 1995, or the 1997. Parker gave the 1992 a drinking window of 1995-2030, but after tasting the 1995, I think I'll also try a 1992. I'll post the notes soon.
