This wine has one of the most elegant noses I have found in a rioja ... sweet cheery jam, plum, light spice, and earthy lethery notes. It carries over that jamminess and builds to a very long spicey finish with tobacco notes. Give it another year, still needs some time to lose some tannin and smooth out. Served without decanting along sided tapas from Meson Sabika in Naperville. RD 91

Both Parker and WS gave this an 88 because of it's lack of depth. I can see their point, but still think it deserves a slightly higher score.
