hi,
never posted tasting notes here before, but yesterday the wine was simply a miracle in the bottle , so here i go.
i've had this one a year or so ago and it impressed me with its undeniable finesse and nobility, but i drank it in a crowded room with a flock of small children yapping around and wasn't able to concentrate fully on it.
last nite , really needing a mood enhancer, and since my wife decided to drink 1/2 bottle of 1999 Chinon Les Granges by B.Baudry , i gave myself a wink and opened a bottle of 1997 W.Brundelmayer Gruner Veltliner Alte Reben.
it had a beautiful colour of late summer straw with a touch of italian gold, plenty of minerals mixed with white peach and pears on the nose. it showed some age, but it will last for years undoubtedly, although i'm tempted to pursue the other 7 bottles i have in my cellar immediately. this wine is so, so good. it is full of stewed quince, apricot fruit and stone flavors with slightly oily texture and a long pleasant finish.i higly recomend this producer to anyone wanting to break out of chardonnay habit. you will be forever changed.
thank you for your time, and cheers
