Off the list of the The River Cafe, London. Decanted for sediment and served. A really expressive and seductive nose of juicy ripe plums and chocolate. The palate feels fresh and packed with fruit that just glide along to a full and long finish. Balanced and elegant, this wine is really impressive. The somm said this was the best showing from a very mixed couple of cases in their inventory for whatever that is worth. (95 pts.)

Thanks for the note! Sounds great!
I really love Galatrona. But to find it with some age on it is pretty hard to find. Maybe I should pay a visit to London on the not too long term!

If you do not mind me asking what kind of price does this go for in a good restaurant in London? Thanks for the TN.

Glenn - Not to get off the subject but how was The River Cafe? Sig. ra. Maria Manetti (Fontodi Matriarch) has an exclusive agreement with the restaurant for the olive oil. The oil comes from the olive grove on her family's original home site near Tavernelle. She has a wonderful agriturismo on the site that was the caretaker's quarters.

Good info on the olive oil. Food was really good. Probably the best pasta we have had in London and my roasted branzino was great.
