1996 Dalle Valle Cabernet Sauvignon - I had high expectations for this one as four previous ones have been very good but this was .......corked. The fruit seemed to be there but even after two hours, absolutely no nose.

Went to the backup, 1994 Joseph Phelps Insignia Cabernet Sauvignon. Dark ruby with no browning, rich earthy nose that explodes from the glass, nice black fruits that cover the palate, most of the tannin resolved but in no danger of going over the hill soon. Mature with a nice long finish. 93 points.

Last week had the 1995 Joseph Phelps Insignia and while it was good, it was not as good as the 1994 IMHO. I gave it 91 points.
