Anyone willing to share TN's on the following wines?

'99 Matayac Eleve en Fut de Chene Cahors

'98 Cranswick Estate CS

'98 Benziger Reserve Merlot

A local wholesaler I'm doing some work for spotted these wines for a price I couldn't refuse...free! I'm guessing the Benziger is a high-80's to low-90's wine though I've never heard of either of the other two. Thoughts/comments greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure which Cranswick label you are talking about. They do three varied ranges and for the most part specialise in whites. At the top come the Premium and Regional sectors which I would thoroughyl recommend. The bulk Vignette range is something I wouldn't bother with. However its free so worth a try if you've never tried it before. The best Cranswick wine I reckon is the Autumn Gold Botrytis Semillon or the Barrel Fermented Semillion.
Hope thats some help Kybo.

Wouldn't hazard a guess on the Cahors but I just went through a 1999 Minervois that was scrumpy and well-priced but as far as 1998 Cali merlot - high 80's to low 90's is Dreaming City. My mantra for that vintage is add urine to improve taste.

So, what do you really think about the '98 Benziger? [Big Grin]
