For those who do not know my address, please email me at m.boersma@comcast.net for the info. Dress is “wine casual” (meaning you don’t care if you spill on your clothes). The format is "walkaround". I'll set up bottles in various rooms throughout the house. There will be a ballot box to vote for "Wine of the Night". I’ve rented stemware. They are standard banquet goblets. So if you want to upgrade, feel free to bring your own Reidels or Speigelaus. For those in the Chicago area, please bring something for the appetizer table. This worked really well last time. We had quite a spread. If you bring enough to feed 6-8 people, we should have enough vittles for everybody. If anyone wants to volunteer to bring a bottle of bubbly, please post here. I don’t have anything good in my cellar. I imagine this crew could plow through 4-6 bottles total without a problem. I do have a couple bottles of Prosecco that I’ll open. For those coming in from out-of-town, no need to bring anything. Just yo’ bad selves. Working on a party tape and tasting booklet now. Party on Garths! Cheers, Otis |

Otis- What are you serving for wine? I don't see anything good on the list, like Boone's Farm, or Blue Nun. Is it ok with you if I bring a few magnums of Beringer White Zinfandel? I have a vertical going all the way back to 2001.
******** Yes, but I came here for an argument. Oh! Oh! I'm sorry, this is abuse. |

Grossie,
I have a nice vertical of 2003 Arbor Mist that I can donate, though I am a little light on July (it was showing the best right out of the box). This may compliment the Boons Farm. Thanks, Rob |

Do you think anybody would be impressed if I brought that 3L bottle of 1999 Mondavi Private Selection Merlot? Would the non-geeks go for it?
Not like we need more wine... Nancy |

It sounds like there will be people sleeping in Otis' cellar again. At least keep the couch out of there this time...
Eat, drink, be merry and have a Happy New Year. |

For those coming in from out of town, it looks like you might luck out weather wise. The forecast is for temperatures in the 40's on both the 2nd and the 3rd.
Of course this is Chicago and you never know. VM |

40s for a Californian translates into a turtleneck, a wool sweater, a large down coat, scarf, earmuffs, a hat, ski gloves, and ski pants.

I heard a rumor that Pyang might make an appearance. Can anyone substantiate this?
