The first one was ripper. So we might as well do it again.

Here's an open invitation to anyone on this board who wants to help me clear out some space in my cellar by helping me drink 50+ bottles of wine. As an added attraction, tlily and his lovely bride will be there. Cool

The date is Saturday, January 3rd , in case anyone is considering travel plans for that long weekend. If you're in Chicago, be sure to stop by.

More details later. Just want to get this on the calendar for those interested.

Cheers,

Otis

Otis,

You are insane. Does your wife know about this? An open invitation? To your house? This brings up an interesting topic. Who is the most generous member of this board. I would vote for Otis followed by the King of Hearts (for throwing 2 great offlines in Seattle and New Orleans). I've heard and read good things about Tlily also but have not had the chance to meet him yet (I'll have to wait until January).

Back to the topic: Did your wife give this her blessing or will it be a surprise?

VM: First of all, thanks for your kind words. There was SO much wine left over last time. We need more troops this year! I'm not worried about Mrs O. She'll probably pass out on the coat pile around 11 PM again. Razz

rhb: I live in Northbrook, a suburb about 20 miles north of downtown.

WIML: Would love to see you make a return visit to the ranch!

Mafia: I'm counting on youse guys to deplete some serious stock. But no rough stuff this year, Blue Oval. Let's drink it, not break it (and I'm talking about both bottles and bones)! Razz Big Grin

Cheers,

Otis

January 3, 2004 - I won't miss this one.

Vino Me - for pyang's organization skills, and the wines he brought to Chicago, he deserves at least an honorable mention. Of course, otis' open invitation to his cellar is awfully damned generous.

And anyone who attends is also very generous to help otis with his cellar overstocking problem.

I need to get a bigger wine carrier I think before this trip.

It appears the "curse" only occurs at the Otis Hacienda. So, this time I will be easily recognized as the mafias own "bubble boy" . . . taking no chances! Big Grin

You can count me in, and presumably my husband too. Thanks for the notice, giving me plenty of time to perfect delicious finger food to bring.

You can count me in on this one. It will probably be one of the last times that I have my designated driver as our baby is due about a month later.

Thanks,
Rob

Otis--

I missed the last one, I won't miss this one! =)

The only thing that could hold me back is if I am out-of-town on an interview.

Keep me posted!

Otis,

Logistically speaking, is Ohare or Midway a better airport to fly into to have easy access to your neighborhood. This is one event I would love to attend. Also are there hotels in your neighboorhood or is one forced to stay in downtown? Put me down for 1 person for now. Thanks for the generous offer.

Excellent! It looks like we are assembling a crack brigade of wine-weathered warriors to attack the mission at hand. Semper fi! Hard core!

Tbird: Don't worry, after the last party, we solidified ourselves as the Osbournes of the block.Razz Hope you can make it out.

pyang: If you come, we'll have to think of a winter sport to replace wiffleball. If we have enough snow, I will set up a luge course.

I-dub: O'Hare is closer. We're about 15 minutes north of there. Midway is about 45 minutes south of my house. If you want to stay in my 'hood, there are lots of fairly priced, reputable, non-infested hotels within 10 minutes of my abode. Email me a m.boersma@comcast.net once you know your itinerary.

tlily: With her connections, I'm sure Mrs. O can set up an exotic spread of mac & cheese choices at buffet table. Wink Big Grin

J3, nsexton, rob, Joe, TW2: Glad you can make it. Looks like the Mafia will be out in full force!

Cheers,

Otis

tlily,

Email me. I'll donate a couple of bottles to the cause even though I won't be able to attend. You gotta haul them there for me.

Otis,
Just flood the backyard and we all can strap some skates on for a little hockey. All the wine will help keep us warm and for those non ice skaters keep the pain down

SO much wine so little time.
