It looks like we have the spots for him, so if he can make it last minute that would be great.

All right, I am ready for some wine and French food. Had a nice little Oregon Pinot Noir last night as a warm up. See you guys tonight.

Thanks guys.
I think my favorites were the Bordeaux wines, that seemed to get better by the second, and that Caymus, that tasted like a Bordeaux. Thanks SD-Wineaux and Whine-oh for bringing those special wines. I know jmch75 did not enjoy his 98 Spatlese, but I know I did. See you guys in a month or sooner.

I think I am almost an old world purist. I think I still like New World but I think it needs age to let all that crazy jammy fruit settle down.

Caleb, SD-Wineaux, Whine-oh, check your emails about today.

Men with racks ?! Yikes Eek I did not know you had a rack, but then again, I've never seen you with a tight t-shirt (thank goodness). Perhaps I'm glad I missed the event. I know the event was held in Hillcrest, but no one told me the men would be packing "racks" there. And here I thought the business with the family in the desert was weird.

2004 Schoffit Riesling Harth Cuvée Tradition (France, Alsace, Thann, Alsace AOC) 7/22/2007 LPskeleton 92
The bottle opened with strong alsacean petrol and tart pineapple scents. With time the petrol receded yeilding beautiful pure fruit. This had an incredibly luch midpalate, with dominating pineapple flavors that gave the impression of residual sugar, but quickly turns dry on the finish. What a great wine this was one of the best whites I have had all year. Will get even better with age! (13 views)

2005 Radio-Coteau Pinot Noir La Neblina (USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Coast) 7/22/2007 LPskeleton 90
This wine abounds with rich fruit and bright cherry. A touch of alcohol on the palate from the youth. Should integrate well. This is soft and velvety. Nice. Im not much of a pinot guy, although this wine was good, the varietal just doesnt inspire alot of passion from me. (5 views)

1997 Paul Jaboulet Aîné Crozes-Hermitage (France, Rhône, Northern Rhône, Crozes-Hermitage) 7/22/2007 LPskeleton 91
Great mushroom and bacon scents came off this wine at first, with time evolving to a more focused elegant cherry fruit focused aroma. This wine was wonderfully integrated in all elements and is at peak or a little past. This wine has a beautiful earthiness.

2005 Domaine Jomain Puligny-Montrachet (France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Puligny-Montrachet) 7/22/2007 LPskeleton 87
River stones, with pear and flowers on the nose. Great minerality on the nose. This wine was flabby and lacking acid on the palate. This wine increased to a 90 pt wine with a great garlic mussel preparation. It really needs food as the mussels showed the acidity, brought out structure and focused the fruit throughout the formerly hollow midpalate of this wine. With food 90 pts.

2004 Sea Smoke Pinot Noir Southing (USA, California, Central Coast, Santa Rita Hills) 7/22/2007 LPskeleton 92
Great aromas of raspberry jam and cherry cola. Amazing texture with a nice core of acidity that carries the fruit through the finish in a very pure manner. Long finish with great concentration and purity. Yummy pinot.

I thought that was a Hermitage, I did not even realize it was a Crozes.

It was an Hermitage, not a Crozes. Specifically, it was the the Hermitage La Chapelle.

Whoops its always tricky when you dont have the bottle in front of you to get the wine right on cellar tracker.
