I will still bring tenderloin. Probably sliced and layed out on a platter. It should stay warm on the one mile drive to T's house. As we get closer to the date, lets get an accurate count of the number of attendees please. I would like to know how much to prepare.

I will still bring Pride merlot 2001 unless someone has other preferences.

6:00 PM is good. Stop drinking by 9:30 - 10:00 PM followed by the movie is fine. I have a couple of question. Is it OK to sleep during the movie as long as I don't snore too loud? What wine goes with popcorn?

Slapshot, I thought you said you were bringing a Paloma Merlot. Confused Not that it matters, because I'm not sure I can make it anyway. Roll Eyes

One month to go.

Time is firm--6 p. November 5 FRIDAY

Novi

Thomas will provide

1989 Margaux
1997 Tapestry

1995 Jacquessin Champagne--Provided upon arrival until it is gone

Potato Leek Soup for all

The bottles should be concealed so that we can sample blind--If Rich is willing it would be useful to have him record the observations. I had thought we would simply go through the bottles and comment.

Movie is optional--but encouraged

sorry for not responding sooner, however I might be having some minor foot surgery a couple of days before your wine tasting and if I do I would not be able to attend. I will know in less than a week exactly when it might be and will let you know asap.

I am going to make a 4lb or so salami cut 3/4th's of the way down every qt. to half inch. The salami is then brushed all over and in between the slices with apricott preserves and bbq's for 2 to 3 hours. I'll heat it back up when I get there. I got this recipe from a BB member on EBOB.

**Still working on a wine**

I'm guessing between 12 and 14. The obvious ones are:

Zinfanman
Wineo
BEZ(2)
Slapshot (2)
Thomas (2)

You have to think that there will be others. Where is 69Lafite? There are other Michiganders that are on this board, but I guess they don't want to participate. Roll Eyes

Bez,
What I know about the count is displayed on the Board. I have not received firm committments from the Pond Lady or from Dr. Jimmy. Everyone else is on the board.

I had thought we would randomly number the bottles and taste blind.

Keeping it simple has become my mantra.
