VM, Frankie,

It take it I should decant the Grandi Annate? For how long?

J3,

It was not decanted when I had it and tasted fine. I would throw it into a decanter just before you leave and then back into the bottle. Shove the cork in and hit the road.

are we gonna coordinate transportation for this J3?

decanting, say for an hour wouldn't hurt that's for sure.

Well then. I know what wine I am going for first before it gets "scarfed" down. And I'm bringing two stems just so that I can fill one to the brim and enjoy throughout the evening . . . Razz

Cheers,

BTW, Scott McDonald - it seems like we haven't been able to touch base yet, so I'll have to pass on dinner for Wednesday night. I leave for Philly tomorrow morning, and won't have net access, so making plans at this point would be difficult.

Look forward to meeting you next time.

Hmm, both sides of Lady Cabernet are taken, so I'll just have to sit across the table then Big Grin

And don't worry, there's probably more than a handful who haven't posted what bottles they'll be bringing. One thing's for certain - this group is never short on wine! I can't recall a single offline where there wasn't wine left for the staff or taken home.

Futronic - travel safely and we'll see you next week!

I'm sure I can point out a couple good bottles for you. Smile

There will be a lot more bottles - only a half dozen or so people have actually posted what they're bringing.

Otis,

Thanks for bringing the Fuligni - they're my favourite Brunello producer!

Thanks for the well-wishes ... see everyone next week.

I should sell the seats next to me to the highest bidder. Razz I need to pre-print the wine names or I'll never get it down. It'll like trying to write do trig after a 3 all nighter in italian.

To all- We now have 7 Brunello's out of the 15 wines which have been posted so far. Doesn't anyone own any Italian wine other than Brunello's?

Futronic- I will probably pick up a couple of white wines from Cantina de Terlano as the contributions of the guests that Scubarex is bringing. I brought the 1998 Vorberg to an offline a year ago and it was very well received. Since then James Suckling has reviewed 11 of Terlano's wines and every one has scored 90+ points. I will let you know what they are when I pick them up.

I still have no idea what I am bringing. My entire Italian collection consists of the '01 Feudi Serpico and the '99 Banfi BdM. We have enough Brunellos and someone else is already bringing the Serpico. I'll post what I'm bringing after I go out and find it.

Along with the first wine I already posted, I'll be bringing a 2002 Gunderloch NR GKA for desert. Been dying to open one of these since I got a few.

TVG,

Isn't that a 375ml bottle? Not sure how that will work in a group of 25. Even 750ml bottles won't stretch for all 25. That is why I am bringing a magnum.

Looks like the list is shaping up nicely. VM made a good pt. earlier; with the number of people attending perhaps duplicates would be ok so that some wines can provide more than just a "taste." I am bringing the Serpico. Anyone else who wishes to bring the same is fine by me.

Hopefully we will not have any "corked" wine in the bunch. Looking forward to it!

Cheers,
Blue Oval

Chris, is the time 6:30 or 7:30? I was under the impression from earlier threads that it was 6:30 ...

I just realized that Caro Mio is a block from my old job.
