Business calls me to downtown Chicago on Tuesday night October 19th (Yeah, it is my birthday). Would any of those "Good Friends of Ours" in the Chitown Wine Mafia care to share some wine and maybe some cannolis? Bin36, Randolph Wine Cellars, or some other good place where everyone minds their business and the veal is good?

Unfortunately, it looks like I'll miss you this time around, tlily. I'll be in Germany that day.

Hope the mobstas can pop some corks with you on your b-day while you're here.

Catch you next trip!

Cheers,

Otis

Tlily, hola hombre. Looks like I'm getting that SJ Sharks account afterall. My boss is in SJ right now squaring away the contract.

Any hoo ... I'd be up for something at Randolph. It's their third tuesday tasting, meaning for $30 you get to taste a bevy of Spanish wines.

october 19, 2004: spanish beauty
a pageant of the sexiest wines from spain with a special tasting of spanish foods from our friends at Solex Partners.

The food is generally plentiful at their events and the wine isn't bad either.

Interested?

Spanish wines sounds perfect. I've been trying to taste as many as I can, since I'm planting 2000 Tempranillo vines this spring, I figure it would be nice to know what the stuff tastes like.

How about 7:00? And I need someone on the crew to pick up a Copain allocation for me from Anwar.

I should be able to swing this one (no pun intended, Tlily). My only complicating factor is that I go out of town on business the next day, so I probably can't stay out late.

I'm not sure this is going to work for me. My wife and I get back from a vacation the day before and I'm not sure how much free time we will have our first day back. I may be swamped at work.

I'll probably drag a few work folks along with me as well that night. Vino Me, I'm coming in direct from vacation in NOLA myself.

I just found out that I have to be in Chicago first thing Wednesday morning, so can I join you guys on Tuesday night? Am I correct in that we would be drinking the Randolph wines as opposed to bringing our own? Let me know.

Let's do it, Steve.

You are correct, they run a tasting the 3rd Tues of every month. It'll be a decent value for the $$.

See you then.

Anyone else in?

Small turnout for sure with only Grossie, Tlily and myself tasting some decent Spanish wines. My favourite was the Septentrio. Enjoyed meeting you Tlily and hope to share some more wine with you again in the future. Good seeing you again Grossie and thanks for the Vinny G's. You may have been wise to leave when you did. I was a little tired this morning after we closed Bin 36 last night with a tasting flight, a bottle of 2002 Sea Smoke Southing Pinot Noir and a bottle of 2002 Worthy Sophies Cuvee. Both nice wines.

I knew you two would get up to no good. Sounds like I missed a great ending.

Nice seeing you both again.
