Thanks to the help of Tunina, the dinner in October will be held at Indigo on Sunday the 24th.
The restaurant will accommodate us in their private dining room and start the evening with some light finger foods. The dinner will be a three course meal with three appetizer options, four entree options and four dessert options. Corkage will be waived and the $50 per person is inclusive of food, tax and gratuity.
Please RSVP at your convenience, but don't wait too long.
you weren't REALLY kidding , I was about to suggest that everyone was going to bring Clos Apalta if we did that. The one problem I would point out with this is that WS takes price and availability into account. Thus, many of the wines we are betting on simply aren't super-interesting. Nevertheless, this is an interesting proposition. Most of my best wines are limited production CA, Germans, or Italians from tiny producers, in fact, the only "interesting" wine I have that I would bet makes the WS top 40 is the 2001 Planeta Syrah. (Kumeu River Chard will be there, just like it is every year, but I'd prefer to bring something a little better than that.) But how about we bring wines that we think will be in the WS top 100, or wines we think are better/more interesting than the WS top 100 and talk about how stupid the WS top 100 is?
a
p.s. Of course, if others want to do predicted WS top 100 that is fine and I will happily bring 3 wines I predict will be there.
