boston11, There are a few of us in the South Florida area that post but not any tasting groups I'm aware of. I wish there were, maybe something we can start if there are others in the area that would be interested. There is one huge event this Sunday but don't know if you'll still be able to get tickets at this late date. I posted it here (just one note. It was moved to Port Everglades in Ft. Lauderdale, still on the cruise ship)

I'm sure you're talking about Project Newborn. I urge you not to miss this one. Be sure to leave plenty of time for security and parking. It's one of the best wine events I've been to. I'm sorry to miss this one.
Btw, we'll be down there for 12 days next month and hopefully will be getting together with the Rothkos and rjs3s. Maybe we can orchestrate some sort of a group dinner. If interested, email me at chemocurtis@hotmail.com.
Just one more sip.

Pending Rothko's approval, it looks like it'll be December 29th, with Emilio, rjs3, Rothko, me, and assorted spouses. boston and anyone else, if you're interested, email me.
Just one more sip.

This past Monday, my wife and I went to dinner with the Rothkos, with whom we've dined every time we got to Florida, and the rjs3s and Emilios. The restaurant was 32 East in Delray Beach, FL.
This restaurant, by reputation, is one of the finest in Palm Beach County, but I wouldn't heap that much praise on it. While everything was good, nothing my wife or I ate was outstanding. I firmly believe I make a better rack of lamb than they do, but none of this dampened our evening. Not even a somewhat disappointing 1978 Chateau Margaux, a wine that Parker called the wine of the vintage in Bordeaux, cast a pall. The wine was elegant, but the great Margaux perfume was subdued. 1978 was another of the myriad vintages initially proclaimed great that proved to be overoptimistically rated. It was completely overshadowed by the 2001 Hartford Court Highwore Zinfandel. Emilio brought a Selbach Auslese that tasted more like a Spatlese. rjs3's Pinot Noir paired well woth the appetizers and Rothko's 7 hour decanted 2000 Numanthis still tasted very young. I don't think anyone took notes. I'm finding it preferable at these occasions to skip the notes in favor of the conversation. I hope we get to do this again in April. Thanks to all for a great evening.
Just one more sip.
