There is a new wine bar in town and anyone interested in giving it a go may meet next Thu, Oct 9. Time TBD. Open to themes, if there are suggestions.

Do you have the address of the Wine Loft, I am not finding it online?

Here are some of my suggestions for a theme:
  • Single Variety - Multiple Regions
  • Single Variety - Single Vintage - One Region
  • Region (like Napa or Russian River)
  • Broad Mix

Can we bring wines into the wine bar? I have several wines that need to be drunk and would love to share with a group that would appreciate them.

http://wineloftnewlocations.com/fayetteville-ar.html

this is the link I looked up...there is no address and I have yet to get a reply from the e-mail contact.

I will get in touch with my friend to see if she has the address. Hopefully, will know something by Monday.

The Russian River suggestion sounds interesting to me, as I am not that familiar with the region...would like to learn more.

Thanks bijoux,

I have the same link. Thinking about calling their corp headquarters for more information if you don't get a hit from the email address.

Keep us posted.

Bad news guys. I placed a call to the Wine Loft's corporate headquarters and the Wine Loft in Fayetteville hasn't even picked a location yet here in Fayetteville. They are looking at starting construction next year. I let them know that there is a group of people interested in having wine get togethers there once it is built.

Plan B?

I think I found another location. The Wine Cellar in Fayetteville seems to be open. I have placed a call and a left a message. Once I get more information, I will update the board.

Great News Guys, I think we found our place. I got ahold of the Wine Cellar and they have a small back room that seats 8 people that we could use. Also, they will allow us to bring in wine and waive the corkage fee. They are excited that we are looking at their location.

To help with directions, they are in the little plaza right across the street from Grubs (Flying Burrito is in the same plaza).

So, what time and what theme?

Bijoux, I have start asking around at work if anyone would like to take part in a tasting and I have received some great feedback (6 to 7 people are interested). Let's postpone this tasting (since no-one has really committed), reschedule in a week or two, and I think I can get a good group together. Plus this will allow for better coordinating and planning.

What do you think?

I agree with postponing. My schedule is open at the end of next week then out on the road again Oct 20-28. I have a couple of wine loving friends at work as well so we really have the opportunity to get a nice group together. This is so exciting!

I have sent out an email to see if anyone can get together for Thursday of next week. Let me know how many hits you get. I will see what we can organize at the Wine Cellar or another location. I have some Chef contacts and see what they recommend.

Alright, I have got six people on my end (with other invitations not yet responded). I am going to stop by the Wine Cellar tonight and get some information and also I have a lead on a restaurant called the Brickhouse. Don't know if that will pan out since they only do lunch, but I have a connection and see where it goes. Let's start figuring out what we want to taste or bring. I was thinking of a couple of varietials and maybe some cheeses or tapas with them to see how they pair.

Just to update, they are closed today. So I will stop by tomorrow and start getting things set up. What do you think, 6:30?

I have, including myself, 7 people who have said they want to come. Bijoux, how many on your side?

Bijoux, I met with the Wine Cellar and it looks great. They have a back room which I reserved for 6:30 on Thursday. They have a special machine that houses several wines that can be bought for a tasting (1 ounce pour). A couple of us are planning to bring a bottle and then probably buying a bottle off of the menu plus some cheese and other appetizers. I set it up for about 8 to 9 people. Let me know if you have anybody coming to let them know.

Bijoux, sorry we missed you last night. Didn't get the turnout I was hoping for, but we did have some great wines and conversation. We are looking to do this again in November and I hope to have a much larger turnout.

Sorry I missed the event...traveling for work. My schedule is a bit more flexible in Nov so will enjoy trying to get another group together.
