At our last offline we discussed having a syrah tasting. Are we still planning on having it?

Who do you have to probe around here to get a chardonnay?

I don't recall that either. How much wine did you have, Sean? Wink

Sounds like fun. We're in!

Hey guys. It was I who was talking about having it. Some other friends I drink wine with were shooting for early October, but no one's schedules matched up. I'm thinking maybe late October or early-mid November before things get busy around the holidays. Perhaps everyone should list a set of Saturdays or Sundays that work, and those that don't. Probably a mid-afternoon thing.

10/21 is bad for us, and also the weekend of 11/11-12 (Napa, here we come!).

I myself am pretty flexible. I do prefer Saturdays if at all possible. 10/28 and 11/04 would be good. Again I emphasize my flexibility.

I'm free every sunday and depending upon the time we meet I could do saturdays too.

Hello all:
Spo had directed me to this link about joining you for local tastings. Sorry for the delayed response. Although I wouldn't be available for 11/04, keep me in mind for future events. I will check back to see if the above date has changed.
Thanks and Cheers,
Scott

If I didn't drink this wine, they might be out of work and their dreams would be shattered. Then I say to myself, 'It is better that I drink this wine and let their dreams come true than be selfish and worry about my liver."

If we deferred it to 11/18, would everyone be able to make it?

Yes, 11/18 is fine, as is 11/4.

If we're still having it on the 18th, I will be able to go, but my parents have to go to a wedding.

Hi...what do I need to do to join this group? Or have I just done so? Can I be in on the proposed 11/18 tasting?

Welcome to the Forums and welcome to the group, LL!

I'm assuming at this point that we'll stick with the 18th rather than meet tomorrow. But we still need to pick a place and find out if Wine Joe and/or Red guy will be joining in. Dinner at Thee Bungalow is a possibility. Or we might try the wine bar where Tracy works (although I haven't seen her around the forums lately). Or???

Anyone have any preferences?

My only preference is that I focus on the wine vs. the food (sorry, is that a bad thing to say?). Hence, I'd rather go where the food is reasonably priced and spend my money on the vino...Wine Steals? Third Corner? Crush? I'm new to this, so I'm sure you guys know more than I do. Which wine bar does Tracy work at, anyway?

I had to do a search on it, but Tracy (who hasn't posted since August) works at The Wine Encounter. At one point, I think she had offered up their back room.

Since our format is bringing something to share, we need places with a corkage policy. Unfortunately, The Third Corner isn't licensed for that. I don't know about the other places you mentioned.
