Finally set a date for the 2005 Cellar Dim Party. It will be held on August 27th. We decided to have it in the summer this year to utlize some of the deck space in the backyard.

I'm looking at culling around 50-70 bottles out of the cellar that are ready to drink. Already nosing through my music collection for notable obscurities. Murph is starting to think up esoteric descriptors. I've bolted down the couch...

I know some out-of-town celebs from the forums are going to be in Chicago that weekend to visit Mr. & Mrs. Vino Me, so I'm going to go ahead and put them on the list:

Pinot Envy and Pinto
Mr. & Mrs. bman
Mr. & Mrs. Seaquam
Mr. & Mrs. tyee
futronic
DoktaP
Mr. & Mrs. Vino Me

Mrs. O has asked me to max out at 50 people from the board (since she actually wants to invite some of her friends too this year). Please post here if you are interested. There are 38 slots left.

As usual, I plan on ripping the knobs off on this one. Looking forward to it!

Cheers,

Otis

I tried to come up for this last year but timing wasn't good. This year I'd love to come if there is room Otis. And I'll make sure that the two wines I have to deliver to you won't end up on the "diminishment table"

Otis-

Mark the scube down for 2!

It is extremely kind and generous of you to do this, otis. I appreciate it very much, as I'm sure the others do as well.

The date is perfect for me because I will be in town anyway picking up a couple of great bottles of wine from VinoMe. This way I will also be able to include one of my favorite sports: meeting other wine lovers.

I look forward to getting to know the just-slightly-frightening CWM. Smile

The only frightening CWM are those that bump into racks and shelving. Eek

Hmmmm.... as long as you haven't imposed a limit for Toronto area attendees, I'm in!

Well, looking forward to the notes from this event, as it always sounds like a great time. Otis' generosity in hosting and making it open is really impressive.

MLV and I would have considered making a trip to make it, and meet the CWM and all other attendees as we have been meaning to get to Chicago, but it is sandwiched between 2 other travel weekends so no can do.

Have fun everyone.

Otis,
we wish we can go, but it is hard. In October, we have a full month of travel, and the dogs...
Maybe: I will talk to my Mrs. O, to see if she wants to go that Saturday morning, and return the next day, but I almost hear her answer....
Anyway, have a nice party if we can not go.

Otis,
Thanks for including Futronic and I on your hit list. We'll be there! Looks like there's more interest from the TWC.

Last year I organized a limo from downtown Chicago for the out of towners and the "real" Chicagoans in the bunch (me and Mrs G). FYI, Otis's is about 30-40 minutes out of the city.

If we have enough interest maybe we'll do something similar this year, although maybe bigger (like a minibus or something).
