Late notice, I know, but I'll be in Bloomington, MN from Friday, Feb 19th through Sunday, Feb 23rd (flying home early on Monday the 24th). Would enjoy hooking up with any forum members during that time for dinner and/or some wine tasting. Let me know if this is a viable possibility for you and if so let's make it happen. Post on this thread on the forum or email me at borntoride3000 at hotmail dot com.

duck, I could do friday feb 19th. I could send out some feelers to a few people. If we would do it at Edina county club where I work there is no corkage fee and unlimited riedel glasses. We just have to wear a jacket and pay cash because we are not members. Bloomington is not far from Edina at all. There is free parking and we can have a semi private room. Let me know what motif you want to do for the dinner as far as the wines. We usually bring one bottle per person and can taste blind or not. Let me know so I can get the ball rolling. SmileI'm at jrater64@msn.com.

mpls wine guy- I will be keeping my eyes on the off lines. I'm not sure if I can make this one yet, if I can I will let you know by Mon or Tue of next week. No corkage fee- wow! Sounds like a good time, a bit of a drive for me though-Elk River.

MJ, Welcome to the boards. We need to have people like you from the WS boards come and join in. It's really layed back and a great time for everyone. You wont be disappointed and I hope you can make it. Once we know the theme it will be really easy to pick the wines. We need to have a strong twin cities area input on the offlines.

Works for me (hope you can make it as well MJ)! I forget where I'm staying in Bloomington but wherever it is it's less than 10 miles from Edina. And even though I'm from Montana (yee haa!) I'm sure I can find a jacket good enough to get me into the door.

As far as themes are concerned, I'm somewhat limited in the variety of my collection (forgive me, other forum members). As you probably already know, I have a ton of Aussie Shiraz so that's always a possibility. I've also got some nice Washington Cabs and Syrahs that I can provide, and I've still got some decent Cali Cabs (and a few Syrahs) that I can bring as well. We'd definitely be committing infanticide on the Cali Cabs I've got but what the heck... a little decanting goes a long way.

I'll shoot you an email sometime in the next couple days or you can email me at borntoride3000 at hotmail dot com.

I will check my schedule and get back to you guys.

I think an Aussie Shiraz event would be great.

What price point would be like to say per bottle?

I looked at my calender guys and that friday is actually the 20th but it still works for me. I think Aussie shiraz in the $40-$60 range would be good price point. Let me know if that sounds good.

I should be finished with my seminar at 3:00 PM on Sunday, the 22nd so I'm thinking 5:30 PM will work just fine. I'll be bringing a 2003 Kalleske Greenock Shiraz.
