I am looking to see would would be interestd in a dim sum offline at the Empress Pavillion in Downtown Los Angeles. It was brought up by myself and Darkstar, so I want to see who else is in. I talked to them and there is only a $5 corkage per bottle. No corkage on the tea Wink

So who would be in for some Dim Sum and Alsace ?

Darkstar is bringing the Gerwertz Smile

You're getting awful close to when the Chinese New Year crowds mob the place.

FYI--I recall years ago trying to google that place. I was dumbfounded to learn they spell Pavillion with only 1 L (i.e. Pavilion).

Great place.

Not much of an Alsace drinker, however. We might just tag along depending upon the day/time.

We will wait till after new year. We went last year, as its my wifes birthday and the day we went they were having a marathon. Well, we got of the freeway just in time for the road to be open, then they closed it, leaving us and my inlaws trapped in one part of Chinatown with no way to get to the resturant. 30 min later we got there. Eek

Ron, no limit on Alsace, just anything you think will go with Dim Sum or for after. I will put you down as well as the PE's.

Great place, have enjoyed many a riesling there. Unfortunately Saturdays and Sundays are bad because of soccer and basketball with the kids. Have fun.

LOL like ships in the night, my friend. we got a late start(12:30-ish) and was told 1 1/2 hours, so we bailed to the golden dragon.

The best way to do this is to show up at 10 ish, with a party this large we would get in by 11 ish, If we showed up at noon the wait is too long on a weekend. Is that too early for everyone ?

We still want to, I guess it got put on the back burner. Everyone went on their own after talking about it, and waiting for the table was a issue. Who is still interested besides us and a candygram delivery man ?
