I am provisionally in. It all depends upon timing, though I do not know what exactly my schedule looks like.
FWIW: I would love, either this time, or better yet, a time I can commit to, to do either a Barolo / Barbaresco, or CDP, or Northern Rhone, or an Alsace tasting.

Winetarelli - dude, did you miss the offline where we did a vertical of Beaucastels and Rhones? Very small and intimate at a French bistro in Berkeley. I thought you were there.
Keytohwy - you're right, it's time. And if we wait, it will be Nov - Dec and nobody will be able to attend.
I was thinking it might be fun to visit Crushpad in SF. Maybe we could find someone over there to give us a tour

The interesting restaurants that I've been to recently in the East Bay (Marzano, Bellanico) are tiny, loud and not conducive for groups larger than 4.

tanglenet, thanks for call. As you thought, I've been busy with harvest and haven't been paying attention to much else. I think I can arrange something at Crushpad, but I'd suggest doing it in January, after Harvest and the holidays. While everyone is more than welcome to come by during harvest, for a tour, and a first hand experience with working grapes and must, to have a themed tasting and dinner will require a less hectic time. My suggestion is let's have an offline in the next month or so somewhere else, and I'll arrange one after that, at Crushpad. Thoughts?

Any excuse to together and share a bottle is fine with me. An offline this month in the East Bay and one in SF at Crushpad in Janusry sounds great to me!

Hip Hip Hooray! Now what should we do for this month? I know we've had a Rhone theme before, almost a year ago, but I wouldn't be against the idea. Also, we've never done a blind tasting, that might be fun too.

I know that Randy, tpb and Eric L. have been busy with harvest, so it may be a small gathering. Is there an interest in doing it at one of our residences? Pull out the barbie and have each person responsible for their own entree and everyone bring a side? Or we could always hire a private chef. Or we could just go to a restaurant. Thoughts?
I don't know about you but I'm heavy in 00 Bdx and looking for an excuse to pop some to see how they are progressing.

That sounds great to me. However, because of the size, if we had it at our place I'm afraid we'll all be sitting on the floor (and I mean before the drinking); so I don't think I could volunteer residence.
If anyone else is willing to open up their place, we would more than happy to crash -with wine of course!
00 Bdx sounds good and either the option to cook, hire or go out is fine with me. Though, I would suggest if the group is larger than 5 that we have it catered or go out because it's just not that much fun for those who are doing all the work.

We would be happy to host as we have room, but not sure how folks would feel about driving up to Hiddenbrooke. We are the American Canyon exit, one past the Napa turn off on Hwy 80. TPB, when is Mrs TPB coming back down? Also, I like Bordeaux, but is picking 00 too much of a limit?

Happy, Mrs tpb is in town Oct 21st - Oct 25th, back again Nov 6th-8th, and then for the week of Thanksgiving (including both weekends). Hope we can partake, whatever the theme is....

It would be great if you could host! Maybe something like Sunday afternoon the 25th, if tpb + mrs tpb can make it? That way we don't have any traffic issues. (Without traffic, isn't it about 25 minutes to your house from the Bay Bridge?)
It looks like the 00 Bdx theme is off the table. (For some reason, I thought there were more bottles in peeps inventory. Oops, just me). Any other suggestions?
