I'm in plus one, if there's room.

Definitely a maybe. I'm moving this month and am starting a new job that Tuesday...

June will certainly be a yes.

The last offline I attended had a theme of any wine at least 10 years old or, to put it another way, from the 1998 vintage or earlier.

If not that, how about a simple bordeaux or Italy theme?

If anyone has a bottle that their dying to share, we could pick a theme around that.

I'm good with whatever others want.

BTW MM, I was in your store on Sunday but missed you again. Frown

Sorry, took the week off for exams Smile

A bit of warning next time and I promise I'll have a bottle waiting Big Grin

I like the Italian theme idea, but I don't have too much Bordeaux ... I could bring a coupla dead ringers though Wink

Have we settled on a venue? Feel free to be proactive and pick something!

As for theme, I really am up for anything, so maybe we should just go themeless for once? Or not?

Someone else is going to have to take the reins on this because I'll be out of town either that night or leaving early the next morning and therefore won't be able to attend.

mav and mavbabe are in Italy on their honeymoon, so that can't be organized until their return. I suggest someone else step up and make plans accordingly if you want this offline to take place.

Sorry I'll miss you this time around bman!

This effort seems to be flagging, but I'm still up for it if someone can pick a venue. If somewhere other than downtown Toronto would be better, I can stay almost anywhere, though I would like to be near enough to the venue that the cab ride won't break the bank! We don't have to be a big group, as long as the wine is good!! Smile

I should be back in town one of the first two weekends in June, and possibly later in the summer as well. If that suits better, we can put this off until then....

Appologies, bman, but I'm about 75% sure that we're hosting a Bat Mitzvah dinner at our house that night. In the event that it turns out to be the following weekend, then I'll let you know, but otherwise you should assume I'm a "no". I haven't seen you in a while, though, so I'd certainly like to catch up when you're back in June.

No worries Slan Smile The June visit is not set, nor or any others except for May 23, but odds are that we'll be around at some point.

Come to think of it, May 25 would still work as well for me as May 23, if it worked better for you or anyone else.

Seems like a later date might be best, given the quietness of this thread over the past weeks and our relatively small number in the first place (I think I counted 3 couples or singles saying yes and 2 saying maybe). So unless someone signals by Thursday morning that they would like to go ahead with this on Friday or Sunday, I'll pull the plug on an offline this weekend and try again when next in town. Smile

That looks like the right call, bman. Sorry I had to bail, but we're having 14 people for dinner on Friday! I hope we can catch up when you're back in town in June.
