Our Sunday Seminar Series focuses on education, through discussion and tasting, of the grape you will always love, but will never fully master. Come have fun trying! Each Sunday Seminar Series has three parts (appellation, vineyard and misto), and each part will be moderated by someone well-versed in the particular topic: A vineyard owner for the Vineyard Tasting, an appellation wine association president for the Appellation Tasting, an expert on pinot clones in California for the Clonal Study, etc. Each tasting will work like this: The tasting will begin, of course, with the pouring of 4 wines within the theme. Attendees will listen to a 10-15 minute lecture while tasting, followed by a 10-15 minute question and answer session. These are fascinating, enlightening studies that will enrich your future pinot experiences. Executive Chef Luke Sung, who is talented beyond his years, creates the types of satisfying combinations one can eat every day. His food is deeply flavored, elegant, yet straightforward. Sung crafts French style, classically prepared small dishes, many featuring flavors of Provence, which works very well with Californian ingredients. His credentials are surprisingly lengthy and impressive for such a young man, and include work with Chef Roland Passot at La Folie, Chef Julian Serrano at Masa's (now at Picasso Restaurant in Las Vegas), and Chef Daniel Boulud at Restaurant Daniel in New York. We love the food and ambiance at Isa, and cannot think of a better venue for one of our Pinot Days Winemakers Dinners.
