Thanks.

Big Grin I figured I missed an email. By the way, MA, I understand Beucastel is good for a cough.

Just one more sip.

I think it's a scientific fact that '88 Beaucastel squashes coughs. Unfortunately, it has been cost prohibitive to the prolitariate. Good thing this dinner came along. Wink

I was thinking about bringing 2 brunello, but then realized I had only 1. Then I remembered Board-O was coming and drank it. Right now I'm I thinking of bringing a 2005 Kutch RRV and either a 2001 Numanthia or maybe another Pinot (but I'm stuck with a bunch of young wines)

Right now, I'm planning on bringing an 03 McCrea Boushey Vineyard Syrah. For my other wine, I'm looking at an 02 Tait Shiraz, 02 Clarendon Hills Blewitt Springs Grenache, 03 Mas Doix Salanques, 98 Parusso Mariondino Barolo, or 01 Ladera Lone Canyon Vineyard. It depends on what others bring or if anyone expresses a preference for any of those.

well, JC thought the Mas Doix or the Barolo sound like good ideas...

Bring whatever you like. We are looking forward to seeing everyone.

Excellent - Have not had the 02 Insignia since the April 2006 off-line April 2006 Off-Line
and I am looking forward to seeing where it is at.

Obviously excited about the Riussec and the Prum also. We had an '01 Siduirat not that long ago with Steve8 when he was in town - and it was smoking.

Emilio is brining a Reichsgraf von Kesselstatt Spatlese 2001 and a 2001 Baumard Clos du Papillon Savennieres

See you later.

It's early to open these guys, but let's see what's doing 5/6 yrs. out.

Part of my notes when I tried the Rieussec last year included "....like a big glass of sweet sunshine..."

Good choices by Rob. See you guys soon!

Definitely - we are opening an 03 Zind-Humbrecht Pinot Gris Rotenberg - so now there will be some whites as well (not counting the champagne we are opening)

MLV & Jcocktosten thank you for putting this together. It was a pleasure to meet you and the rest of the S. floridian forumites.

What a wonderful night!! MLV thank you for cooking for such a large crowd; the food was great.

I hope someone post some tasting notes, there were so many bottles that I'm still trying to figure out what we drank.

I liked the 88 Beaucastel, 04 Clio, 01 Numanthia and 01 Rieussec but did not take any notes.

Hopefully everyone enjoyed attending as much as we enjoyed hosting (now washing all the glasses last night, that is another story). It was great to see those that we already know and to meet some new people.

We are relying on Vinole to post notes as he was the only one I recall writing anything down -

N/V Duval Leroy - always a nice champagne to kick things off.

WWOTN - not really fair to put here and it should probably be in its own category - but the Riussec was the clear winner - I enjoyed all of the whites, the Prum, Baumard, the Zind-Humbrecht and the Reichsgraf and each was well over 90 pointers for me -

RWOTN - not necessarily a clear winner - I thought the 02 Insignia, the Beaucastel (really I got such a small pour of this to share with MLV and her parents that it was hard to judge), the Orin Swift Prisoner and the Fort Ross Pinot stood out for me -

In the next group, I would put the Mas Doix, the Kutch, the Gruard Larose, the Solengo, the Numanthia (way too young) -

Then probably the Clio (was not balanced to me and really hot on the finish) Outpost Zin - Viader

With the McRae Syrah pulling up the rear (sorry Vinole)

I don't know if that is all of the wines or not, but that is what I remember.

Gruard was '75 - I think the consensus was that this saw too much air before the tasting - still it was a treat.

The Solengo was '01 I believe -
