Since the party starts at 7:00pm can the pickup time be adjusted so that we can arrive there at 7:00 rather than be picked up at 7:00? I'm guessing if we are not picked up until 7:00 that we wouldn't get there until close to 8:00pm right?

Grossie, you have done an excellent job on arranging everything but I am in the leave a little earlier camp. I fully expect this will mean an extra $10 or so a head but I think that is worth it. If you cant work it out let us know and we will all shut up about it.

I felt like a kid in a candy store at the last CDP. Studied the list, had a plan of attack, etc.

This year will be more Zen. Sure, there's a few bottles on the list I'd love to taste, but it's all about seeing friends and chillin'. Cool

I just couldn't resist an attempt at winding up the bus-boys. Big Grin

FYI. Grossie is flying back from vacation today. I'll see him tonight at our hockey game and mention that there is a sentiment to leave earlier than 7pm.

Cheers,

Otis

So noted, people. I'll call tomorrow for a slightly earlier pickup. I don't want to make it too early, however, since people have Saturday plans, plus overall we are talking about nearly 5 hours at Otis's house! If some people feel particularly obligated to hunt down particular wines and finish the bottles before the masses arrive then a proper physical beating should be delivered to them by said masses!

Here's the updated list:

MJalbers (2)
jburman (2)
Dokta P (2)
Futronic (1)
Klymkev (3)
Stefania (2)
MLV/JC (2)
Grossie (2)
Wine+ art (1)
Emilio (2)
TBird (4)
Longboarder (1)
Asterixis
Gigabit
Tanglenet (2)
Steve8 (2)
Pinotlvr (2)
Thirsty man
Dannyk (2)
Redknife (2)
Roentgen Ray (2)

I think that's 39. Does anyone know of someone on the list who is not coming, or someone else who should be added?

DoktaP, Asterixis, and I make up the Toronto contingent at 1 each. Dok is not (2). Just for clarification!

NOT that I feel you're referring to me, but duly noted in any case. Big Grin

For some reason, I just picture this being like the 5:00 am openings at WalMart the day after Thanksgiving.

We may need to have a different door for the women and children.

Here is an analogous occasion for comparison. Do you think Otis could don something similar to open the festivities, complete with cane, hat, and singing?

P.S. The chocolate river represents Australian wines.

KTF, I would think with so many people droping off the bus there should be room. Cant say for sure though.

As for the Marriot, last count was about 14-18 rooms booked there each night. Our special rate ended last Friday but I am sure if you called Jenny and asked she would help you out. She has been very nice throughout. Her phone number and the group code is on the thread below "Official CDP Group Hotel"

KTF- no problem.

Are most at the Marriott or the Renaissance? I thought it was the latter. Can someone please clarify for me?

Latest list, and updated info.

Due to popular request I have asked the bus to come at 6:30pm, however the company was not sure if it could be done. They will put in a request to the driver. Usually the bus will arrive 15 minutes before the time anyways, so they were planning on 6:45. In either case we should plan on meeting at 6:30 for a prompt departure at 6:45 to satisfy all those itching for an earlier arrival.

Latest List:

MJalbers (2)
jburman (2)
Dokta P (1)
Futronic (1)
Klymkev (3)
Stefania (2)
MLV/JC (2)
Grossie (2)
Wine+ art (1)
Emilio (2)
TBird (4)
Longboarder (1)
Asterixis (1)
Gigabit (1)
Tanglenet (2)
Steve8 (2)
Pinotlvr (2)
Thirsty Man
Dannyk (2)
Redknife (2)
Roentgen Ray (2)
Ktf (2)

That still holds us at 39, or $28 per person. We'll probably pick up or lose one or 2 between now and then (French16 & wife might join us, and Mrs Grossie might actually drive up to Otis's due to babysitter issues, although I will still take the magic bus), so our number isn't completely firm. I would expect a nice round $30 per person would work well.
