Since there seems to be enough interest in 2 offlines for Toronto in July, here goes:

Date: July 15th
Time: 7:00 p.m.
Place: University & Dundas area (I'll confirm venue later)
Theme: Rhones -- Reds, whites or roses -- or Rhone inspired wines

If you can attend, please confirm.

My bride and I will be in NYC celebrating her birthday that weekend, so I'm going to have to pass.

It should be a go for me.
What kind of food do they serve? Italian? French? Other?

Dok et al (but not just Oakville Al)

The venue is called Tuscany Cafe, and it's located at 45 Baldwin Street (between Beverly and McCaul). Don't let the name fool you, the cuisine is not traditional Italian.

I might be interested, but will have to reconfirm once I am back on Canadian soil.

Presently in Rome, Italy. Hot and humid, but lots of fun.

Cant make this one as I will be in Ottawa July 15-17 attending a horse show (Capital Classic).

Carriedca, If you dont come to Toronto on the 15'th, perhaps we can hook up on the Saturday?
I believe the show is held in Nepean at some big equestrian complex.... close to you?

Some details for the 15th
- reservations are for 7:00
- stemware/decanters are needed. (If you can't bring your own, I can bring some extra).
- we have room for 10 people.

I haven't decided yet what to bring, but I'll post when I get back from out of town early next week.

Who's still in?

Mrs. Baird will attend depending if Mrs. Carried or other members of the opposite sex attend.

I will bring a big red (98 Vieux Telegraph or similar) or alternatively a 750 of 1998 Bastor Lamontagne Sauternes if there are no other dessert wines being brought. I know Sauternes isn't in the Rhone. Razz

Mrs.Carriedca will definitely be there.
As for dessert wine, I could bring a Tardieu & Laurent Condrieu (since Baird doesn't have any Rhone dessert wines Razz).

I have an extremely rare 375ml of Guigal's Luminescence I could bring. Razz

It is a semisweet condrieu so I am concerned about food matching. But if there are 10 people at the offline, I might be better off bringing something else as we would only get a small taste each.

It appears that I'm on call on the 15th of July and unfortunately am unable to attend this offline. I must send my regrets but wish you all a fabulous offline.
(When I responded, I did not have the final and confirmed call schedule dates. Oops.)

I will be bringing a couple of bottles. I haven't yet decided on the red, but for a white, I'll bring a 2001 Mule Blanche from Paul Jaboulet.
