Drth, The conditions under which my wife agreed to have the offline at my house was that the guest list not exceed 8 people. Unfortunately, we have exactly 8 at the present time. There is a chance we may host other offlines throughout the summer. I suspected that you and Slan would be in Muskoka for the long weekend and that's why you did not reply earlier.

The baseball game is a later start and won't end until 7:00ish. Does this mean we have less time to drink more wine?

mwaters, I couldn't agree with you more. This was one of the finest off lines I've had the pleasure of participating in. Thanks to Baird for the appetizers, mwaters for the salad, futronic for his world famous chocolate souffle, and basecadet for his amazing selection of cheeses and coffee. J3, the '82 Pichon Lalande was my WOTN. Unbelievable nose of cedar, cigar, tobacco, and fruit. This wine has a decade at least ahead of it. The participants were first class. It was great to see Mrs. Baird out and enjoying the assortment of aged Bordeaux. At one point, I had to pinch myself to think I had in front of me a '82 Pichon Lalande, '89 Pichon, and a '91 Guigal La Mouline. I'll post the wines in the what are you drinking thread. As per usual, refer to Fut for the actual tasting notes. It was a real treat to have Jcubed at our offline and we hope to see him again more often.

Thanks again to Dokta and Mrs. P for hosting this. The wines were amazing as was the food. Hard to believe my '95 Cardinale and MWaters' '86 Prieuer Lichine were just ok beside the other heavy hitters. On any other night they (or the '89 Pichon) could have been wines of the night. These wines were excellent but the '82 Pichon and '91 La Mouline were absolutely incredible. The '82 Pichon Lalande was my WOTN as the nose was one of the best I have ever experienced. A top 10 wine of all time for me. Thanks, J3! It doesn't get any better than this. Now what Do I drink? Back to beer, I guess.

I want to thank the Toronto group for their generous hospitality this weekend. In particular, thanks to futronic and DoktaP and Mrs. P for arranging the weekend, opening their homes, preparing sumptuous feasts, and making my stay most enjoyable. Thanks also to basecadet, mwaters, baird and Mrs. baird for sharing their wines and some of their holiday weekends with me. It was great to meet you all. The meals and all of the wines were outstanding. But my wine of the night, and now of my life, is the La Mouline. It was out of this world. Now I know what the fuss is all about. I look forward to seeing the Toronto Cru again in Chicago in August. J3
