We will be up, and these are the days we'll be available to meet up (we leave the evening of the 19th, so it would have to be lunch that day). I don't have an extensive cellar to dig through, and I won't be bringing anything. I'll have to buy something up there to share.

We're looking to have one or two awesome dinners (Eleven Madison is in the back of our minds) and we'd be happy to share this night, but something casual would be great, as well.

Who's down?

Hi Nolan -- I'll have to see if my Oct 16th plans fall through. I'm open to an offline for one of the weekend dates. If your plans start to firm up, let us know which night(s) works best for you. There is a good group here to share some great wines.

We may be out of the country then, but if not, we'd be up for a weekend offline.

Just one more sip.

Any of those nights will work, really I'd prefer to meet as many of the NYC crew as I can, so if there's a common date for everyone, I can plan around it. We don't have any really solid plans, so anything goes. I'm not too familiar with the BYOB scene there either, so suggestions would be great. But this Peking Duck House looks interesting Big Grin

We were hoping to make Peter Luger's this trip, are they BYOB friendly and would everyone be able to make it to Brooklyn?

Luger's doesn't allow BYO unless they've changed recently. The draught Beck's is fine.

Just one more sip.

My original idea was Peking, and it's still a possibility, but if there's other options I'm open to them. We're very adventurous eaters and love new and interesting experiences.

How many are we talking about?

Nolan +1
DoubleD
Noirregonian
Mareff
T-bird +1?
g-man +1?
Board-O +1

Square Meal is on the Upper East side and can only accomodate 6 people per reservation unless we make two reservations. Reservations are needed in advance.

Shaffer City is in a central location in the Flat Iron district, can accomodate our group, and should be open to a corkage (I need to call and pretend to be Deb.)

Harry's Cafe and Steakhouse is located in downtown/Wall Street area. They had a very reasonable corkage and on a Friday or Saturday night, they are looking for any business. It was like $55-$60 with tax, tip, and corkage for a steak dinner.

Let me know what you guys want to do.

Oh man, Harry's has a pretty ridiculous list. If we went there I'd be hurtin to not try some of the stuff he has.

I would very much recommend harry's as they do have a very reasonablebly priced list for older bottles even if you didn't BYO

I had a good time at Harry's on my last visit. They were very accommodating to our BYO needs. That said, I would be open to any of the suggested venues.

8 is fine for us, but there's a good chance we'll be out of the country then. Depends when our grandson decides to be born.

Just one more sip.

As much as we'd like to meet you, that's definitely a good excuse to leave town. As long as all is well in the end.
