It's about that time to organize another get together. I don't know about the rest of you but Santa left a lot of wine under the Christmas tree. What a better way to consume our gifts than to share it with others. So I think we should have the First Annual Offline Post-Christmas Wine Glut Gorging Extravaganza. So bring all those gifts worth sharing or just bring the usual.
Now we just need a date and a place. My January is pretty much open.
Who do you have to probe around here to get a chardonnay?

Excellent thought, Sean. I was thinking about starting a thread for our next one as well, but I didn't want to seem too desperate...erm, I mean eager.
I'm itching to bring my own little mini-theme set of non-X-factor wines; '04 Schild and '03 La Tour Blanche. I haven't tried either of these and I'm holding off until we get together. January is pretty open for me as well, but if the Chargers are playing then I'll be drinking wine in front of a TV!

I will check my schedule and let you know. Ditto for the Chargers. Hopefully, they will eliminate a lot of days in January (and the first Sunday in February).

We may be in too and may be able to host. Kid friendly, or at the very least "our kid friendly" but it all depends on the football season/schedule. Want to be able to concentrate on the wines!
Since football seems to be a pretty universal concern, how about targeting the weekend before the Super Bowl - the 26th thru 28th? Maybe Saturday the 27th?

Chargers just lost so that should not be an issue. Nothing wrong with wine and football though. They had a great season. I am sort of a free spirit with very little responsibility. I will watch this thread for the when and where.
SD - I just found out about a BBQ that i have to attend in OC on saturday (1/27). I may be able to host on Sunday if that works, but have to check first before I can commit. Show of hands re Sunday?
Sorry, i thought this off-line had died due to not much of a response. I'll post again later tonight.
Sunday would be fine for us. And hosting is certainly not a requirement, although it's a very nice offer. Availability is the key and we can work out the rest later.

Alright, we are a go to host on Sunday 1/28 (I think that's right). Anyways, 2:00PM until 5:00 something. We have a commitment at 6:00, so unfortunately it won't be able to go into the wee hours... Show of hands who is in and as it gets closer I will provide direction to our place in La Costa. Gigond Ass, I need to meet you, you are a character, so you better make it....
I do appreciate the offer but I have a prior commitment on Sunday.
Perhaps next time.

I think just like when you hosted, if you have any cheese crackers etc. that you wish to share, the more the merrier. SD-Wineaux, you've been to my place, but if you or Sean need directons email me at jberry172@aol.com. Any one else in SD interested?
(I hate having to use my wife's laptop, I have to edit to correct the typo's every time)
Blue gal and I won't be able to make it. Sorry for my delayed response, but I was holding out in hope that our plans would change. I will let you know if our Sunday plans are cancelled. If not, we will try to make the next one. Have fun and let us know what you tasted.

I am tempted, but I think I need 5+ hours to offline properly. You guys are a bad influence on me with all that good wine you bring. I suppose I could excercise dignity and self restraint, but I have not in the past, and would hate to start now. Have a good time and I will watch for the recap.
Self restraint and dignity are highly over-rated! Come to the off-line anyway and I'm sure we can work something out (PM me over on WD for details, if you want).
I'll even bring a extra little something extra to tempt you (same goes for Red guy, if he wants to bag those previous plans and Wine Joe, since I've wanted to return the favor of that Barolo that he previously shared).

Well, I was supposed to come in Dec., but got called out of town more quickly than I'd expected. I'd still like to meet the group. It would appear that the group is getting together Sunday, in La Costa, 2-5 pm. Is this correct? If I promise not to exercise self restraint and dignity, can I come? I promise not to be good
No kids, no s.o., and lots of pretty good wine and bubbles.
Let me know.

Um......I emailed Sky at his jberry... email address yesterday requesting directions for today's offline, but haven't received a response yet. Does anyone else know where it is and could give me directions? My normal email is thebubblyone@gmail.com Since I couldn't make it last year, and worked on homework all day yesterday so I would have the time today, I'm eager to come and meet everyone.
Thanks billions.
