Otis, we are confirmed for 2. Very excited and looking forward to meeting you and enjoying the vino and conversation. Thank you again for such a generous invitation.

Do any of you CDP veterans have additional tips for 1st timers attending? Are there any faux pas that should be avoided at all costs? Can we bring more than just our smiles and wit? (I will have to search a bit for my wit before packing for the trip. Not sure where I put it, it has been so long since it was last used).

Although we are not native Nutmeg-Staters (from Connecticut), we will do our best to represent our neck of the woods with the dignity and respect it deserves.

See you all there.

Otis,

As much as it kills me to say this, we are out. Instead of drinking with all you fine people, we'll be in Saginaw with my daughter's soccer team. Sometimes life isn't fair.

At least you won't have to worry about my lovely wife breaking any bottles in the cellar with the recliner.

Bman, you're going to have find another chauffeur this time around.

Enjoy.

Oh, man am I not happy about missing the Mother of all Offlines. Frown otis, I get to Chicago from time to time, so I'll shout at you next trip out that way! Again, thanks so much for your generosity in doing this.

KSC, I've got a commitment to get to Montreal before too much longer, so will certainly hoist a glass with you some time soon!

Not because of the ride, lostverse (we're driving and so staying nearby this time) but because we enjoyed hanging with you and your missus, sorry you two can't make it.

My wife was looking forward to joining forces with your wife to again fight off the "friendly" neighbour! Eek

PH - if and when you are in Montreal, please give some notice as Ottawa is less than two hours away and we might finally make an offline in la Belle Province! Or you could just add Ottawa to your itinerary (might be just the thing to raise carriedca from his apparent slumber....)

Tbird - how am I gonna get my autograph??!! Frown

That would be great! Just try to give a week or so 'heads up', as I'm out of town often, but can try to arrange my schedule when the time comes Wink

Stef Wine: A bunch of guys from my hockey team are coming with their signifcant others. As you know, hockey chicks are hot - so we are covered there. Big Grin.

Primodealsoup: welcome! Looking forward to meeting you. Some tips are posted here. Smile

Folks: I have posted some logistical details for the party on this thread.

I took a look at the wine list. Very impressive. In my opinion, better than any of the previous CDP's.

Looking at the last 2 pages, It appears that the mass migration of Texans from the party has resulted in the inclusion of members from Connecticut, Indiana and Tennessee. Looking forward to meeting some new folks.

Alas, the Maryland "contingent" will be reduced by one - the August schedule has become overwhelming.

I must bow out.

Thank you again Otis for your kind offer and hospitality. Have a wonderful time folks!

Otis,

I'm sad to report I will have to miss your wonderful event.

I have tried for the past 6 weeks to rework my schedule at work, but just can not. I will be at the PGA Championship in Tulsa that week with clients. I was hoping to fly out Friday night, but need to stay. Frown

I do hope to see you again soon, and have a great party!

Those Texan wimps are dropping like flies Razz

Notice all of the South Floridians who said they would attend are attending.

Just kidding W+A and WIML and any other Texans who can't make it. We'll miss y'all (I am from Alabama so I can legitimately use that contraction).

w+a: so sorry you can't make it, buddy. Was looking forward to raising a few glasses with you again. Have fun at the PGA!

JC: South Florida is definitely bringing it!

Folks: just a reminder that I will be incommunicado from July 27 - August 5th. See the "details" thread for more info about CDP logistics.

There are about 8-10 spots open right now for the party if any latecomers want to sign up.

Cheers,

Otis

Otis- Being that there is some room now, please allow one spot additional for me to bring a companion, if you don't mind. Another Montrealer. Just let me know if this is any problem. She has good party etiquette. Wink But then I realize that's not necessarily a requirement Razz Big Grin

Otis,

Leanne and I apologize for the late notice but we are unavailable to attend.

We are having babysitting issues due to vacationing parents and my band apparently has scheduled a gig for the 11th.

Hopefully we can share a bottle again in the not too distant future.
