What time is this takeing place so I can put in my agenda please

We usually gather between 6pm and 7pm, when we sit down to the first plate. I haven't settled those details yet with the restaurant but I'll try to do so this weekend.

I didn't see any cheese plates on their menu, but I will ask when I meet with them later this week. Would everyone like me to just try to add this as a 5th course?

If you haven't already indicated if you would like the set menu or if you'd prefer to order from the regular menu, please do so now or at least by this weekend so that I can give Bocado at least a rough count.

Updated attendance list with wine commitments (or ideas, at least) to date;

DoktaP - 1 (with continuing hopes for 2! ) 1995 Beaucastel mag, 1990 d'Yquem Eek Eek Eek
bman - 2 (1977 Dow, 1998 Boisrenard or maybe something sweet and/or Aussie to annoy Steve Wink Razz Big Grin)
carriedca-1
a Product Consultant to be named later - 2
mimik - 1 (1998 Guado Al Tasso Bolgheri Antinori)
Steve8 - 1
Impulse - 1 (1982 Palmer?)
KSC02 - 2 (1986 Leoville Barton?)
Vinaigre - 2
Miss Margaux - 2 (1995 Rauzan-Segla, 1990 Batailley Pauillac)
Dr. C - 2 (you are very welcome to attend! Smile)

If I may, I think one more bottle of dessert wine would do nicely with a full bottle each of port and d'Yquem, though far be it for me to discourage anyone from bringing more! We also seem to have a fair bit of bordeaux and chateauneuf du pape though little Italian and nothing from the New World. I can certainly handle the latter if anyone wishes, instead of the 98 Boisrenard (especially since we're having a mag of Beaucastel!)

bman-
I confirm (2) for the set menu with Veal.
I also confirm the 1986 Leoville Barton + 1 TBD
A cheese plate at the end sounds great.

If at all possible and if nobody minds:
Small request that no seafood or nuts be used due to allergies.Sometimes these ingredients are added without being listed on the menu.I don,t want this to be my official "Last Supper".Thanks

My hotel is confirmed. Through Hotwire the Marriott is just over $100/night.

I'm not 100% certain yet, but am thinking about bringing the 1997 Caparzo Riserva Brunello. I can probably find something white or sparkling for starters, but it may be outside the "aged" theme.

I will miss this with much regret.

The people are first rate and now the wine selection has become too tempting.

Hi Thomas23162,

Sure thing. I'll try to get one from someone in the MWP who might be travelling the US soon.

I do recall reading a thread about it and as such, I am interested in trying it myself.

Hope you can up again Thomas23162 and you are always more than welcome to visit us in Montreal.!!

Yeah Thomas, we've got just over 13 feet of snow so far this winter - c'mon and enjoy it with us!! Big Grin

If someone wants to bring a white younger than 10 years, no worries. This is about having fun and drinking good wine, after all.

Dr. C - I've pasted-in the menu below, which does not seem to include any nuts or seafood, but you may wish to contact Bocado to confirm. Their number is (613) 233-1536. They said that it would be possible to order from the regular menu as well.

Since everyone has agred to take the set menu (except the strangely silent carriedca... Confused), I think I'll just tell Bocado to make as many as we are. I hope to nail this down with them this week. Besides a cheese plate, and ensuring that we have lots of water, dump buckets, and at least 2 stems per person, is there anything else that I should mention?

1st Course: Marinated duck breast, glazed endives, blood orange & trufe vinaigrette

2nd Course: Porcini mushroom & roast fennel boullion, minced veal & chive tortellini

3rd Course: Beef tenderloin medallions, Barolo & shallots compote

Dessert: Fig and Porto tartuffo

Updated attendance list with wine commitments (or ideas) to date;

DoktaP - 1 (with continuing hopes for 2! ) 1995 Beaucastel mag, 1980 d'Yquem
bman - 2 (1977 Dow, 1998 Boisrenard, probably something stickie and Aussie to annoy Steve Wink)
carriedca-1
a Product Consultant to be named later - 2
mimik - 1 (1998 Guado Al Tasso Bolgheri Antinori)
Steve8 - 1 (1997 Caparzo Riserva Brunello?)
Impulse - 1 (1982 Palmer?)
KSC02 - 2 (1986 Leoville Barton)
Vinaigre - 2
Miss Margaux - 2 (1995 Rauzan-Segla, 1990 Batailley Pauillac, 10 year old Cabral Porto)
Dr. C - 2

Bman,

I plan also to bring a 1990 Moulin Touchais but if we have too many dessert wines, let me know.

Too many dessert wines?? Confused Eek I don't think I'm familiar with that concept. Big Grin

Seriously though, I don't think that we do, since Miss Margaux has withdrawn. What do others think?
