Count my wife and I in; she gets back from the States mid-March and I think she'll really dig something like this to get her back in the Euro-mood. By the way, I hope you won't be surprised to see a 22 year old and his 21 year old wife stepping out of our (Nissan) Sunny-mobile--I guess you could say our fanaticism got underway unusually early, but can you blame us?. The best thing is, we still have tons to learn, which makes us great candidates for OL's, because everyone can tell the same awesome story everyone else has heard a thousand times, yet it's entirely new and fascinating to us. I'll do my best to round up some good Italian finds; also, the limit is still just one per person, correct? Looking forward to it, and cbmac, Thanks for the good map/way-finding website--should help a ton; I haven't been having good luck with mapquest.de Keep us posted! Tschau!

Anytime (except the 1st weekend) in March is fine with me. Any wine theme is also fine, although we must do Italian's at some point!
Pfalzman: It seems many of us started with wine at a young age also - we just have a bit more "experience" in drinking wine for a longer period than you and your wife! No worries though, we're not much older than you and I'm sure you'll fit right in! Also, there is no limit on how much wine you can bring! I think we're just trying to be more reasonable since we always end up drinking too much and feeling it the next day!

Righteous--glad the age thing isn't an issue; there was a thread about it a while ago, and I didn't venture there because I thought someone might dish out the "too young and immature to really appreciate wine (instead of booze)" line--I wouldn't know whether to take offense or not. I guess maybe they'd be right about the immature stuff; my wife says I drive too fast, but I say, Honey, I don't wanna ever be caught driving as mind-numbingly slow as my dad (in context, the "mature" end of the spectrum), to which she yields. On the other hand, my dad knows he's "jive" enough to drive as slow as he "damn-well pleases" which makes him the coolest person in my book, and a shining example of what maturity is all about: being "jive". Anyway, thought I'd exhaust the age issue once and for all with some benign 22 year-old smart-assism. The 26th/27th of March sound great. I'll keep checking up for a concrete date, or, my e-mail addie is ezatc123@msn.com Feel free to drop me a line. If you don't want to feel like your sending super-secure, sentive, classified info to your imbedded german wine mole The Pfalzman, you can throw a "Hey, Jeff" on there to make it sound less suspicious, more affable, and downright personal. Looking forward to hearing from you all, and of course the off-line, too. Can't wait!

Are you serious? KLM offering round trip from SF to Amsterdam for $425? I must have had too much wine...I must be seeing things. That's incredible. If I'd known that, I'd be doing the same thing you are, just reverse-icized. I'm going to start checking out Cali OL's now, too. Granted, at this point I need to be seeking some lasting friendships with the great people on this side of the ocean; there really is a world here that I was blind to for so long it'd be a crime to forego the opportunities here for a few good days in CA. But MAN you got me thinkin'. That's so wicked cheap. Alright, peace in the Middle East. Bis gleich!!!

The airfare from SFO to AMS and other points on the Continent have been rediculously cheep since the first of the year, $425 to major hubs, $525 to places like Innsbruck or Marseille (sister lives in Aix) it's killing me to not have grabbed tickets for next week, what I wouldn't give for a week in the Swiss and/or Austrian Alps, but I am seriously looking at June 9th, I can't stay away much longer...

I'm still on to be there for 25/26. It depends on Lady K coming over for a couple of days as to whether we will stay for the Friday night. If she decides not to come then I will return on the 26th.
This still gives a chance to go for a drink with Stevie on 25th if he's up for it.
