April seems to be a busy month for all of our Dallas Area Winos. So busy that we could not come to a concensus on which weekend to hold our April offline. After a group vote was tallied we were evenly split between two dates. So what would any self respecting Texan do in a situation like this?

It's time for a gunfight folks!

That's right, we're going to have not one but TWO offlines in April. "Dueling Offlines". Let the better group win while the loser lay in the dust.

Saturday, April 17th, 7PM at Mi Piaci Restaurant in Addison. Your hosts: THE291 and wineismylife. Theme will be "Off Dry Whites and Italian Reds".

Attendees:
BubbaP and girlfriend
MikeB & spouse
Sapril & guest
THE 291 & spouse
wineismylife & PURPLE
escape (tentative because of work - maybe the 24th instead)
11 Total

Saturday, April 24th, 7 PM at Red Sage Euro American Bistro in Southlake. Your hosts: wineismylife and PURPLE. Theme will be "I've always wanted to try that bottle." Everybody brings one bottle per person (i.e. couples bring 1 bottle each) of any wine that you've been wanting to try but you've been putting it off for whatever reason. Tonight is the night to grip, rip and sip. The idea is to have a very casual, get to know everybody better affair. I won't even force you to take notes!

Attendees:
preferred & Spouse
texaswino & Spouse
vintage & Guest
WineDrinkerofTexas
wineismylife & PURPLE
TexasZin & Spouse
11 Total

So if there are any other Dallas Winos or out of town winos travelling to Dallas on these dates and you want to attend just post here. We'll make the arrangements.

Let the games begin.

Joe,

How have subsequent bottles shown for you? I recall you saying you weren't as happy with what you received in comparison to the bottle I opened during your visit.

This for sure:

1997 Tenute Silvio Nardi Brunello di Montalcino

but I am still hestitant to do so since reading mixed comments about keeping it cellared any longer.

My "guest" is undeclared.

How many Silvio Nardi do you have left? I only have 2 or 3 left. I'd love to try yours. Big Grin

This early in my "wine drinking career" I only purchase single bottles.

I am trying to convince my "guest" to bring a Felsina Chianti, not sure which one.

It looks like I am on my way to Dallas, but a day late on the 25th. Cannot arrive any earlier because we have a job in Calgary on the 24th. Plan on hanging around until the 28th.

Dockers work. I'd avoid jeans. Anything above should work.
