The past is the past is the past. It's time to move on, keep the momentum going and plan another event. Otherwise we will just drift off into our day to day routines...

I'm going to suggest that we get together in the City, at a restaurant, perhaps during the week of November 2-6th? Any takers? Maybe something different, like Pinot Noir?

It is hard for me to commit 100% right now, but I would deffinitely be interested. Also, I love the Pinot theme. Italian and Rhone would also be good theme ideas, imo...

It occurred to me that if we hold this in the City, it wouldn't be an East Bay Offline. But I think you guys know what I mean. Smile

I would be intersted in attending. Looking forward to the details. Just hope my cellar is worthy of participating depending on the choice of the evening.

Don't have alot of Pinot but could offer a Rivers Marie.

Actually about 42 days too soon!

We are busy on Sat, but I may be free on Sunday night. Will you still be in town?

Yep, we'll be in town visiting with friends through Sunday. But if this weekend doesn't work out, there will be others.

I'm interested, however, the first weekend in November doesn't work for me, I don't think my Sister would like it much if I didn't attend her wedding!

Still looking forward to meeting everyone, thanks again for pressing on tanglenet!

Here's the chatter. Looks like we have about 3-4 more that will attend from another board and it's shaping up to be back in the East Bay. Which makes sense since this is titled "East Bay Offline."

Recommendations on location?

Shooting for a mid week event, possibly Wed Movember 5th.

Can everyone make that date?

Mr. and Mrs. Lizardking would like to attend. That is, if it is possible we get a second chance at meeting a few of the bay area forumites, of course Smile

Tanglenet, has a theme been decided on yet? Is the group still considering pinot?

While I suggested Pinot, it kind of depends on the restaurant food. I'm open to suggestions. Bordeaux? Cabernet? Pinot? Something else?

Hey tanglenet,
Head's been down in harvest, and I didn't realize the topic heading was Offline "II" so I missed the thread. I am pretty sure I'll be up for an offline. The week of November 6th, I also believe the wife is in town, so she'll be in also. Mark me down for two....

Tanglenet-
We don't have to go to Boston after all. Is there still room for Mr H and I?

Cafe Soizic isn't giving an inch on corkage. So now I'm talking to Cafe Liaison in Berkeley.

http://www.liaisonbistro.com/dinner.htm

This cafe has a nice atmosphere, not too expensive and is wine friendly. Also, about 3 blocks from the downtown Berkeley BART station.
I will find out more details hopefully on Monday when the manager calls me back to discuss details.

In terms of size, as far as I'm concerned, the more the merrier. Let's wait until we confirm the location before we decide on a theme.

WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 5TH

Happy CSW -2

Although we have 18 tentatively interested, I think it will shake out to around 14 when we finally sit down.
