PH - Zin! I had the '03 Rosenblum, and thought it was pretty amazing juice. While the '04 seems just a tab less robust, there are now at least eight others out there that seem to carry a unique terroir for this new AVA. These puppies run into the high 16's (%alc) too, for the liver challenged out there. Jace

Actually I have his old laptop as mine now since I had to buy him a more powerful one for school. I still have problems dealing with the keypad on the laptop, I guess my fingers are too fat.
When in doubt, open another bottle.

Do you have a date/location set up yet? The Cru is discussing doing sushi/champagne in DC probably at Sushi-Ko but not set date yet so I don't want to double book myself...

Richard, if you go to the WS MD outing they will think that all of the DC Cru are old farts like us. Actually, they are a great bunch and if I can make it I will. The 20th would be the best night for me. I haven't participated with them as much as I'd like because they always have the dinners somewhere past Cairo Egypt where the METRO don't go.
When in doubt, open another bottle.

I'm in for the 20th. The Rooster sounds great. That boy can cook. Have we ever done a Bordeaux event? Me thinks not...... irwin, you wanna check with Mark and see if he's OK for a group on Saturday? PH OOPS! Just read your post, irwin. Eat and drink less elsewhere. The group would not be the same without you...

We will be away the weekend of Jan 19-21. The Rooster is always good for us. Now, I have made a very serious and sincere New Year resolution to eat less and drink less, and exercise more, to lose weight, so I may be not available for our monthly festivals. However, if the past is prologue, by mid-January, that resolution will be long since forgotten and ignored, and I'll be back in business.

First off, Happy New Year, everyone! quote: We will be away the weekend of Jan 19-21.
Irwin, since you're gone the weekend of the 20th, are there any dates that work for you and yours? After missing the last three, we can't let you make it four!

Were you laughing as hard while typing this as I was when I read it? Of course I would love to institute a revolving offline. Nothing like home field advantage at an offline. However, as much as my wife LOVED each and every one of you, she would probably revolve me right out the door at the "clubhouse" suggestion. I think I am out this month boys. I am travelling a lot and going through the purchase of a vacation home, so I'm tied up. Hope to make it out in February. And I will definately watch to see what you slackers end up putting together.

The 28th will work for me! What about a slight "variation" to the Bordeaux theme in that we bring varietals popular there, but not necessarily "from" there? I'd be interested in bottlings from other regions whose style, (in the opinion of the contributor), seems to emulate Bordeaux. It may be fun to compare/contrast as I am sure France will be well represented! klymkev - I clean for wine
