Well, since the Rothkos, my wife, and I will be taking a car and driver, I thought I'd bring an additional 500 ml bottle I found at ABC today. It's a 1996 Sparr Schoenenbourg Riesling Vendanges Tardive. The '02 Lorings will be decanted well in advance. See you tomorrow, or is it tonight already?
Btw, I had an interesting discussion with the winemaker at Chateau d'Yquem about 4 or 5 weeks ago in NYC. We discussed the '94, one of our wines for dinner.
Just one more sip.

Rothko had rented a stretch limo for the drive down to the restaurant, so we joined them for the ride. The restaurant was excellent from amuse bouche through dessert, as were the company and the wines.
We started with a 1988 Krug that was wonderful, surprisingly elegant. I was afraid it might be heavy like the Grand Cuvee. Then we had 2 bottles of the 2002 Loring Gary's Vineyard Pinot Noir, 1961 Ducru-Beaucaillou, 1994 Insignia, 2001 Casa LaPostale (sp?), 1996 Pierre Sparr Riesling Shoenenbourg Vendanges Tardive, and 1994 d'Yquem. All wines were showing very well, except the Sparr, which was horrible. It was spoiled; the color was light, but it offered nothing but sharpness. Nobody thanked me for bringing it- it made all the other wines better.
Just one more sip.

I've been looking for the tasting notes for this event, but I can't find them. Are they gone?

I'm sorry to hear that. Rothko started a serious thread with reviews of the wines we had at a wonderful dinner.

Why are you so unhappy? Arena football lacking excitement? Chill out, lest another of those wonderful royal meltdowns occur.

Wasn't this a thread about a dinner in Florida? LOL. Oh, well. anthony, I think you're ahead, by a mile. Though, if we're measuring bile, you're not.
Just one more sip.

Another misspelling? I don’t think Board-O is actually anyone’s mentor. He sure seems to be one pompous blowhards tormentor though. Some people just aren't smart enough to learn. Agreed. Well, it was a great dinner. Btw, Rothko, our last night in Florida we found a very good French restaurant in Boca with $10 corkage. We tried several French places and this was by far the best. Maybe this Summer?

I don't understand the balck socks and Bernuda socks comment. I guess we're witnessing another in the ongoing series of royal meltdowns.
Don't be angry with me, please. I need your professional advice. I've been thinking of wagering on tiddlywinks. Who's your pick in the next tournament?
Just one more sip.
