Unfortunately, I have decided I'm not going to off-lines that I can't get to on the METRO since I don't feel comfortable at my age driving at night after drinking too much great wine.
I will still try to make one soon, but lately I haven't even been able to make it up the street to dinner I've been so busy.
When in doubt, open another bottle.

One of our earliest members is from north of Baltimore. Or just south of Pennsylvania, actually! You should keep an eye on this thread and try to join us!

I was out with clients in San Antonio last night and I elected to have a cab take us to dinner and back to the hotel. This entire group tends to enjoy their wine and it seemed the safe thing to do. Well, on the way back to the hotel our cab runs a stop sign and we get t-boned!
Everyone is okay (sore)but careful of those SAT cabs drivers.
Saturday the 12th is out for me, I'm up for any other day.
I've also got a couple that wants to join our group. If no one objects, I'll extend the invitation. I've told 'em that the initiation is tougher than most frat hazing, but they were game. We'd go easy on them as long as they brought an '82 Mouton or '90 Latour to share!

Looks like Sunday the 13th or the weekend of the 19-20th are the best possibilities. Any thoughts on a location/theme for this one? Might be a good time to "go white." Anyone know a really good, wine friendly seafood place?

Greek town. (Eastern avenue in Baltimore city) The owner of Ikaros is a client of mine. I don't know how he would feel about our bringing wine. On the other hand, Samos is a place without a liquor license, and they certainly permit BYO. They don't take reservations. They don't take credit cards. The food is outrageously inexpensive. Neither place is haute cuisine.

Had dinner last night in Little Italy and discussed a possible offline with the management, including the wine situation. We can do this, but we have to discuss this "sub silentio". More to follow. (Cheryl had sea bass which she thought was excellent, and I had a veal chop that was outstanding).

Im new to the Baltimore area....actually my wife lives there and I travel to Baltimore once a month or so to keep the fires burning...(its a long story)... Im coming in the week spanning the 19th-26th and would be interested in attending an off-line if the time falls on this week. We live on the inner harbor..right across from Bin 604 fortunately enough and have enjoyed our short time here...
