For me, there is not a region in the world producing as exciting wines of so many styles. A Super Tuscan can be just about anything from a 100% sangiovese to a blend of cabernet sauvignon, merlot, cabernet franc, syrah and pinot noir. The international style of the Super Tuscan blends have captured the palates of nearly everyone. Wine Spectator had highly rated every vintage since 1995 paying special tribute to the 1997 and 1999 vintages. The 1997 vintage is still too tannic to feature in our events so we will feature the incredible and very approachable 1999 vintage. We have selected 12 wines of various blends including the Solaia (the 1997 was Wine Spectators wine of the year) and the Ornellaia. The wines for the evening will be:
